Save the date: Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development Goals

Alien Technology Transfer is delighted to announce that President Arianna Tibuzzi will be joining the panel discussion at the upcoming AI4SDGs webinar on March 3rd, 2021. Organised by the Circle of Sustainable Europe (CoSE) and AI Governance International, the AI4SDGs events are a series of online meetings dedicated to recognizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovators contributing to one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A study published in June 2020 by Ricardo Vinuesa and others on Nature Communications finds that AI can enable the accomplishment of 134 targets across the 17 SDGs, but it may also inhibit 59 targets. The United Nations recognises that the emergence of AI and its progressively wider impact on many sectors may influence the ability to meet all SDGs in ways that still need to be investigated.

Join the discussion on AI and Sustainable Development Goals

The AI4SDGs webinar invites outstanding AI innovators and sustainable development experts to join the discussion, presenting their projects and visions on the future of AI. Arianna Tibuzzi will bring to the table Alien Technology Transfer's experience in deeptech and public funding, introducing the opportunities and challenges for AI innovators under Horizon Europe, the new European Commission's research and innovation framework programme running from 2021-2027.

Programme of the event

The webinar is open to everybody and specifically targeted at Machine Learning developers, data scientists, students of Computer Science, Social Science, and practitioners working on SDGs.
